Sandrew Halford grew up in Yorkshire and spent most of his time lost in stories - on screen, on paper and in his head.

After 25 years teaching English, he decided it was time to take his own advice and write something for himself.

The D Words, his debut novel, is the first in the A Single Letter series - how stories are shaped by memory, dysfunction and the potential for change.

He now lives in rural Bedfordshire, England with his husband, daughter, and their dog, Cooper. who insists on daily walks and occasional editorial input.
